Its been crazy figuring out how to travel to the amazing places you love or want to see and how to afford to do that if you are not a very wealthy person. I spent two months in Kauai this winter and the door is closing for affordable options.. The cheapest hotels are $300 a night, rental cars $100 a day and even an ahi burrito to go is $20( plus tip, mahalo!)
Sedona has similiar problems.. in high season the rates are sky high, though they vary wildly depending on availablity.. you might find that a room is $100 one night or week and $400 another time.. we have a new shock to the market coming up in just a few days now. The city of Sedona is making it a LOT harder to run an Airbnb.. for folks who can rent their second or third home for $500 a night its not going to impact them much but for those of us who rented an airbnb room at a reasonable rate to fellow travelers- well lets just say there will be less options, including mine.
Why am I telling you all this when you are just looking around for free camping advice?
Its because camping IS looking like a very solid option for this spring in Sedona. We got lots of rain so the trees will be blooming soon, the wildflowers out and I have solid recommendations for my guests.
If you have your own camping gear, book my consultation for $39.
If you want to rent basic gear( nuttin' fancy) so you dont have to lug it from distant states or another country, let me know. Its going to be gorgeous!
